# Introduction

Minima is a headless content management system (CMS).

## What is a headless CMS?

Headless means the CMS your editors and authors interact with is separate from the site which your users interact with.

Your site is under your control, and retrieves your content from the CMS via an API.

## What is different about Minima?

Where other CMSs are focused on words and pictures, Minima helps you model the real world with a knowledge graph, which is usable by editors, developers, and agents.

Let's say you want to write about live music.

Minima allows you to offer your audience a directory of gigs, bands, and venues, as well as the usual articles and galleries.

You can use the included chat UI to research, create, and publish content on your site.
